Development

I want to thank you guys for the feedback. It has helped a lot and there has been progress made in the script. The characters just started to develop by themselves and everything has started to come together. There is some work left to be done, but the overall story is there.

I now see that the problem is that I will make a short movie. Being that it will be short, it's kind of hard to try to make a script for it because it feel like I'm just bunching scenes up. It's going to be a challenge to film a good short movie that has some actual meaning and that it doesn't look like I tried to fit every aspect I want into it.

But it's good that I became aware of the problem because now it's easier to look for solutions. And the feedback I've been receiving has helped me notice when I fall into overcrowding a scene and such.

  1. Remember movies tend to be on average an hour and thirty minutes long...anything that you can make under that I would consider a short movie. Remember you are the director, your movie can be whatever you want and there isn't a set length of film that you should have. Get all of your ideas down and film them, don't make the scenes fit the length of the video, make the length fit the scenes.

  2. I see what you mean, but it is going to be challenge since movies are generally longer. I will not set an actual time of how long my movie has to be, I will just film every scene without setting limitations. Time limitations will limit me as the director and script writer. I will just not put attention to how long my movie is, there are no limits.

  3. I think that making a full movie would be very challenging considering the amount of time that we have left. I think that if you can't make a whole movie it would be really cool to see at least one scene from the movie. Sort of like a teaser. Also if you had a full trailer of your movie it would be really cool too!

  4. What is your movie going to be about? What are you trying to portray?

  5. My movie is about how a person overcomes obstacles. And how we shouldn't let those obstacles hinder our success.

  6. Have you watched a lot of short films (fictional ones)? You can say a lot in a few minutes.
