the power of images
Jehane talks about the "power of images". The power of still images(photographs) and the power of moving images(film). Film and photography are used to express yourself and also to communicate with others. It's an art form that is very strong because images are what we see a lot of nowadays. Would you rather have a video of something or just have someone tell you what happened?Of course you would want a video or picture. As we all know, when information is conveyed by people just talking about it, the information tends to change with every different person that tells it. It's how disputes get started. I think we all want a place where we can express ourselves and exchange our ideas with others and what better place to do that by imagery on the internet.

i really like the fact that you're doing pictures pictures or at least some do change the world. what kind of Photography are you planning on doing? well i would definitely like to help with your project.
ReplyDeleteWell Lucy and I are creating a website where people can upload their photography and films. It's a way for people to share their ideas through art and just for fun if they want to do it.

ReplyDeleteWell I basically have the same TED talk film, but I agree with the idea of using film as a way of communication, but also to express emotion and thoughts. Yet, are you planning to do a film using only photos or making a film with motion? What I want to do is use film, but make a film about the Chinquapin School, showing the academic life, but mainly what we, as students, do throughout the day.
ReplyDeleteMichelle: Yes it would be any type of pictures and videos. The point is for people to express themselves and we would probably hold contests and such to make it more interesting.
ReplyDeleteAlex:I'm not doing a film. I will probably put some videos on the website Lucy and I will be creating. The website would be open for anyone to upload their videos and photographs.
I think you and lucy's idea to do this project is interesting. Its interesting because many people have made websites to upload photos and videos to express their ideas yet you want to some how do a contest of it which is interesting because it reminds me of photofest but online. I like how you feel that you want people to express what they feel through their pictures but what are you trying to express through this website or video?
